El Día del Niño

Last Friday was "El Día del Niño". Basically it's a holiday that's celebrated all over Latin America, they take a day to celebrate children. It's almost as big as Christmas. Friday we had a huge party here in Didasko to celebrate with all the kids from school. We had a great time with a school assembly, piñatas, clowns, more piñatas, lunch, and gifts.

Every year we bless the kids in Didasko, as well as all of the kids from the community that attend our school, with a gift for this special day. For months I've been saving every toy, knick knack, hair tie, and piece of candy that I could get my hands on, to fill over 80 gift bags. It was so much work, but worth it all.

Thank you to so many of you that have donated finances, or gifts for the kids over the last several months, we could not have done it without you.
