Computer Lab in La Carpio

A gentleman by the name of Nick Baldwin was looking for some needy kids to bless through a "random act of kindness", and we knew just the way for it to happen. Steve Edwards, the missionary that leads the ministry in La Carpio, had a vision to build a computer lab in La Carpio to provide programs for the kids to learn while "playing". We all know the importance of the ability to use computers in the world we live in today, and it's no different for the kids in La Carpio. This ability opens many doors and gives lots of opportunities that would have otherwise been unavailable. Through the funds that were sent we were able to buy computers to furnish a computer lab for the kids in La Carpio. We had a "Ribbon Cutting Ceremony" when we opened up the computer lab; it was tons of fun. I have been in La Carpio helping in the computer lab for the last two days and it has been an INCREDIBLE blessing to watch these kids play and have fun while doing math problems, reading lessons, and even playing games that teach English. One of my favorite moments today was watching a 12 year old boy and a 13 year old boy as they competed to see who could finish their math problems fastest and who got the most right. They even jumped up and down and screamed when they won. It was priceless. Here's a video that Steve put together, and a few pictures.
